Competition!

David Bolduc

Did you notice our theme? It’s “About Our Father's Business.” This is one of the first recorded sayings of Jesus, and it’s found in Luke 2:49. At the age of 12 years old, Jesus knew He was here for a purpose. Throughout scripture, there are two opposing views on greatness. The worldly view defines greatness as a competition to reach the top. But, our all-powerful God, the Creator of all things, puts the needs of His Creation before Himself. The enemy who attempted to overpower God exalts himself and seeks to put all others beneath him as defeated captives. On the other hand, when Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday escorted by those whom He had raised from the dead and those who were restored from sickness to perfect health, there were no defeated captives here! Christ always puts the needs of others first. Yet the disciples of Christ often argued about who would be the greatest. James and John and their mother even asked for first and second place near Jesus in His kingdom. So many elements of our culture find their roots in competition. How the enemy delights in seeing followers of Christ engaged in any form of competition that puts others down for self-supremacy. We need to reflect more on the life of Christ. Are we really “about our Father's business”? Compare Christ's ride on the first Palm Sunday with His second coming. He will have an escort of rejoicing people whom He has freed from the power of the enemy! An old song says, “Oh Lord I want to be in that number!” Let's make it our goal to be “About Our Father's Business,” and to point others to Christ by our words and our deeds. For us to be “About Our Father’s Business” we started streaming our signal on June 1st. You can go to StrongTowerRadio.org, and click on the streaming link or you can type in your address bar StrongTowerRadio.org/streaming. Unfortunately, we also have two pressing equipment needs. A failing audio decoder ($700) for WBHL to keep us on the air, and a failing encoder ($6700) for the TV station. I want to personally thank you for your continued prayers and financial support.
